Cinco de Mayo/Drunko was a blast. Tacos, salsa, micheladas, margaritas…perfect!
We headed to Taco Mamacita around 3pm, and by “headed to”, I mean we walked the 1 mile to it. It’s always a good idea to walk if you can, but geezy it was hot! The place was packed already, but we got a seat inside right away and promptly ordered margaritas. Described as “Made from scratch, “Fresh-Mex” restaurant specializing in funky-fusion tacos, enchilladas, Peruvian chicken, fresh made guacamole and amazing margaritas!” Their specials, from Cinco de Mayo included $5 Margaritas, $2 jello shots and $3 tequila shots.
My “Skinny Margarita”
Sauza silver tequila, our homemade
Splenda sweet and sour and fresh squeezed
Roasted tomato salsa & chips…duh!
For my late lunch I ordered their “2 tacos and a side” special.
Carnitas style pork topped with salsa verde,
crispy lettuce, pico de gallo, monterey jack
cheese, guacamole and fresh escabeche.
Oy Vey Taco
Slow-cooked chipotle beef brisket
topped with Mama’s Ranchero Sauce, crispy
lettuce, pico de gallo, monterey jack cheese,
guacamole and fresh escabeche.
sweet potato fries on the side side.
Everything was so good!
J copied me! Total copy cat. Except for he got one different taco, he’s such a stalker.
A double-stacked taco filled with roasted
chicken, salsa verde, shredded lettuce, pico
de gallo, crumbled chorizo, creamy black
bean mash and chipotle cream sauce
and green chili rice as his side.
Topped everything with Smokey Chipotle Sauce…plllleeaasseee give me the recipe!!? This sauce is amazing.
“Sipping on our margaritas, pretending we’re back in Cabo” self-portrait.
For my second drink, I ordered a Michelada–Light beer and fresh lime juice, perfect for hot days. Reminded me of Cabo, only 7 more months until I’m back there!!!
I know you want a Mr. Moustache koozie.
“El Capitan” gave me a little sass about my sunglasses and gave me a t-shirt to help heal my wounded ego. Good thing I speak fluent sarcasm. 😉
